Sometimes the best part of a community event is simply getting the chance to sit down and hear someone’s story.
Kayla recently represented True North Home Care at Crown Pointe Retirement Community’s Health Fair, where she spent the day connecting with attendees and playing a few rounds of “Life Bingo” with the people who stopped by her booth.
And as it turns out, Life Bingo came with some pretty incredible stories!
A Little Bingo and a Lot of Great Conversation
One senior shared that his very first job was working at a gas station, back when he remembers gasoline costing less than 50 cents per gallon.
Another attendee recalled what it was like to experience one of the most memorable moments in American history: watching the moon landing on television while he was at work.
Those are the kinds of conversations that make community events so special.
Every person has a lifetime of experiences, memories, accomplishments, and stories worth sharing. Taking the time to listen gives us an opportunity to learn more about the people in our community and connect beyond the surface.
