A question I get a lot is, “Why would I pay an agency $35/hour when I could hire a caregiver for $18/ hour?”
My answer: Do you want that caregiver to be insured? Do you want them to be background checked? Drug tested? Trained to current standards? Trained to new standards as they arise? What happens if that caregiver is sick, will someone else be covering? Is there any oversight on the care plan? Is a nurse looking at documentation? Is there documentation at all? Are you managing the caregivers’ taxes? Is the caregiver available 24/7 for questions or concerns? Are you paying them to be on call 24/7? Do you want peace of mind that if that caregiver doesn’t work out, you don’t have to start all over again in a search for a caregiver?
Home Care is expensive, and I will not minimize that. I do, however, stand behind my pricing. I know that the True North Home Care pricing model is structured to pay caregivers a livable wage, provide all required and necessary training, provide an efficient system for scheduling and billing, provide insured and protected workers who are background checked, drug tested, and vetted, and at the end of the day, (hopefully) there will be enough left over to compensate shareholders fairly.
I believe the money you invest in True North Home Care is treated with the respect it deserves, and goes to making caregivers the best and brightest in the marketplace.
